August 2016

Film Screening: The Martian

Ferst Center Theatre. Doors open at 7:30 pm.

Admission is free. Tickets will be distributed during the "First Friday" event on the IC Lawn on August 19 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.

Description: Our Project One kick-off event for 2016-17 is a free screening of Ridley Scott’s The Martian. The Martian is a story not just of survival, but of resilience, as Mark Watney (Matt Damon), a NASA astronaut, is stranded on Mars after he is mistakenly presumed dead and left behind by his crew. Mark must rely on his scientific ingenuity and personal resilience to survive and let the rest of humanity know he’s still alive.

More than you might think...Join us for the second film in our Project One series on "Resilience" as we screen Errol Morris's innovative documentary, Fast, Cheap and Out of Control, and explore what it means to be resilient.

Description: Disney-Pixar's Academy Award Winning film, WALL-E, is a story of love, hope, and the resilience of humanity. Join us as we screen WALL-E as part of Georgia Tech's 3rd Annual Sibs Day. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.

Event: First Annual Project One Film Scramble

Registration: March 13-29, 2017 on

Description: Compete against other Georgia Tech students as you make a 3-minute film masterpiece on the topic of resilience. All submitted films will be shown on the big screen in the Student Center Theater on April 13, 2017 at 7:00pm.

Film Screening: Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt
