GT 2000 is a one-credit, letter-graded class designed specially to help transfer students adjust to Tech. The class is taught by faculty and administrators who are familiar with the unique needs of transfer students. GT 2000 is a discussion-based seminar and is offered in both fall and spring semesters. The course allows students to make connections with faculty, administrators, and fellow transfer students while developing the necessary academic and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed at Tech.
The classes are structured in a small group environment, with each having no more than 20 students. GT 2000 covers a variety of topics critical to a successful transition to Georgia Tech, including resume and cover-letter writing skills, academic success skills and time management, opportunities to connect with co-curricular and campus programs such as undergraduate research and study abroad, and major and degree exploration.
